I’ve just finished the novel PLAGUE, which is the fourth book in Michael Grant’s GONE series, which I believe will have 6 books total.
I don’t know too many people who are reading the series right now. Technically, it is a teen fantasy-horror series, but if you haven’t read it, I’d recommend it - it’s not just for teens. It’s not to everyone’s tastes, but I liked it (admittedly, though, I am in the book’s target audience).
Basically, the plot revolves around a small town and the surrounding area in which all of the adults have suddenly disappeared, leaving only 15-and-unders to fend for themselves. They are trapped in town and begin to mutate (animals and people develop weird powers and deformations). The book is definitely grim in parts, but also rather funny. The author claims that the book is for teens, but it sometimes seems to be geared more for young adults.
So, is anyone else reading this series?
