Has anyone else seen these gorgeous snowflake photos?

I just got done reading a news article about a new postage stamp design, and was so taken by the photos on them that I followed the link trail to the physics Professor’s site. There are some fascinating, beautiful photos there. Here is a gallery of some images from LiveScience as well. Just thought I’d share the photos here. Hope you enjoy them.

[SUB]If this is more suited to MPSIMS, then so be it. I felt it could fit here due to the focus on the artform though.[/SUB]

Oddly enough, I’ve apparently been to the site before, since the link was grey instead of blue, but I don’t remember having seen it. Very cool stuff.

The link was grey for me too, though I have never been to it as far as I can remember.

Which link, the one from LiveScience, the news story, or the Professor’s site?

The professor’s site.

What a coincidence! I started another thread about snow crystals last week. It has backgroundinfo on them as well.

To be fair, I did a search and it came up with nothing recent. Problem is, I searched for snowflake, not snowcrystal. Pardon me. Were the postage stamps unveiled at that point too, Maastricht?

For me it was the news story.
