Has anyone ever had a chem.peel or microdermabrasion?

I’ve been thinking of having some work done to remove some pigmentation on my face.

I would like to hear anything yea’s or nay’s towards any chemical peels or microdermabrasion.

Thanks.

Also, has anyone tried any creams or prescriptions or products that have worked for them.
Shallowly yours.

Shirley

If I recall correctly, one thing to consider is how easily you heal. If you scar easily, develop keloids or develop darker skin after you heal, you may want to reconsider a chemical peel/abrasion procedure.

Of course, you should talk to your doctor and all that jazz…

Shirley , the first thing to do is to find an esthetician you trust.

I had microderm last year, and I LOVE IT. Turned out great. Took at LEAST 5 years off my face. Mr. Maureen says I look like I did when we met (10 years ago). My esthetician also turned me on to some wonderful product.

here is the website for the stuff I use. She also got her microdermabrader there. She also sold some ofthis to me, and I now buy it online. Wonderful, lasts about 6 months, and evens out my skin tone.

My sister is an esthetician. Ironically, I have never had the work done but if you find someone who is good the results are usually very positive.

Finding a great esthetician can be beneficial in other ways as well. Something as simple as a facial can add life to your skin. Along those lines you can start with facials and other treatments and work your way up to microderm and chemical peels.

I would not necessarily recommend prescription products. Many times they are much harsher and can have negative effects on your skin not to mention other side effects.

Thanks for the input.

**Maureen ** can I ask how much you paid for your procedure?

I certainly wouldn’t mind looking a little fresher.

No problem. I had a series of 3 procedures at $85/per, and an oxygenating facial immediately following for $60/per, so $145 a pop, every 3 weeks. I was out my weekly spending money, but I think it was definitely worth it.

BTW, Shirley, I’m in the Bay Area, so it may be cheaper for you than it was for me. EVERYONE out here has an esthetician.
