Has anyone filed a claim on the Masonite siding lawsuit?

I think I’ve got a good case.

Apparently, the quality of Masonite siding made between 1980 and 1998 wasn’t so good. The symptoms were cracking around the nails, swelling, and general ugliness. I stumbled upon a class action lawsuit on this on the Internet and found out the claim deadline is January 2005. Every example of damage they describe is what I’ve got.

  1. Anyone file a claim on their Masonite siding?
  2. Did you get a settlement?
  3. How long did it take?

I’m telling my home insurance company next week about this to see what they say.

Marine_One, can you provide a link to the current class action suit you found? I’m having the same problems.

Just FTR, I got in on a class action suit totally without any action on my part. I had received some sort of notice about it in the mail, which I ignored, and sometime later received a check in the mail for my part of the multigazillion dollar settlement. It was about 27 cents, as I remember. I just hope the lawyers didn’t spend all their share in one place.
