Has anyone filed taxes using IRS freefile fillable forms?

Free File Fillable Forms are a way to e-file federal tax forms:

The IRS site states that the acceptable operating systems are Windows or MAC

I can understand why the IRS would not want to get involved with all of the Linux variants, but I wonder if anyone has tried to file their taxes from a system running Linux.

I did that last year on my Ubuntu laptop. Don’t recall any significant problems once I got the hang of it.

Thank you. What browser were you using please?

Firefox. Of course, Ubuntu and Firefox have been updated a couple times since last year, so there’s always the possibility things have broken since then. I’m sure I’ll find out soon.

Moderator: Could you please remove the second sentence from the subject? Now that this has been answered, other people may wish to chime in with their experience using Free File - without bringing Linux into it.

Subject changed from:
Has anyone filed taxes using IRS freefile fillable forms? From a system running Linux?
To:
Has anyone filed taxes using IRS freefile fillable forms?

Also, moving to IMHO (from GQ) since the factual aspect of this has been answered, and to allow personal experiences, Linux or otherwise.

Thank you.
