has anyone had the pulled pork sandwich from subway

Gah, I can’t even imagine how good that must have been…

Whereas I don’t particular care for Texas BBQ. It’s too… tomatoey, too southwestern spiced. Something. I prefer the sweeter stuff.

Texas BBQ isn’t about the sauce or even that much the spicing. It’s more the meat, with beef brisket being the king. Sauce should be on the side, if used at all, and plenty of Texas BBQ joints don’t use anything more than salt and pepper on their brisket.

Daughter has a few days left at Subway and said, “It’s okay, but they don’t give you much.” The second part appalled Wife who immediately bought a pork shoulder to cook tomorrow so she’ll have as much as she wants. Wednesday she will ask, “Who ate all the pulled pork?” We’ll say, “You did,” but she won’t believe us.

The second part is true. I didn’t want to go all “the food is bad and the portions are small,” but, for, especially for a pulled pork sandwich, it’s a bit skimpy on the meat. Then again, it is about as much meat as I expected from Subway (or Jimmy John’s or Mr. Sub, just so I’m not picking on Subway.) This mostly positive review with pictures gives you a good idea of the amount of meat. The photos actually make it look a little bit skimpier than it seemed to me, but, for me, a normal pulled pork sandwich should have 2-3x the meat Subway puts on theirs.

Worked in an office building with a Subway. For some reason, only one of our stairwells has the Subway Smell. It hits you as soon you open the door. There are other areas closer to the Subway, and you’d think if it was the ventilation it would be the rest of the office too, but nope. Just that hallway. I alternated between hunger and disgust every day.

If it’s copious meat you want, try the Big Philly Cheesesteak. They take the usual portion for the standard steak & cheese sandwich and double it, even for the half-sandwich.

I find that to be true with most good barbecue places. My own experience growing up was with Eastern NC whole hog barbecue.
I don’t think I’ve ever had cooled pulled pork in any restaurant, ever.

Yup. That or Turkeyextrameat is my choice.

I’m a bit vegetarian when it comes to sendviches. The BLT with a fried egg for me.

Yeah I find their chicken breast to be tough and gristly, thought it was just my Subway.

I like the pulled pork, I’ve had worse at BBQ joints.

Bacon and fried egg is vegetarian?

Many people do not realize that pigs are technically vegetables.

I happen to get it a couple days ago…

double meat/white/bbq sauce/pickles/onions/jalapenos/pepper/no cheese.

It was acceptable for subway.

I go to Subway for a big sandwich but don’t want to deal with the calories - usually a foot-long turkey sandwich with loads of veggies and that’s good for 600 or so calories. When I stopped by last week and thought of this thread, I glanced at the calories. It started at 440 for a 6 inch, which means upwards of 1000+. I just shrugged and got my turkey.

Bumpdate: And now it’s gone.

I went to Subway for lunch today and was told that the pulled pork sandwich was for August only. IMHO, they went to a lot of effort to have a one month sandwich.

It wasn’t even a one-month sandwich. They were out of it for at least a week and had a hand-lettered sign on the window of our local shop saying “Sorry!”
