The other day at work, a co-worker informed me that Cynthia Rhodes (from “Dirty Dancing”) had been “executed” in NY, along with a gang of drug dealers. They were shot in the head one by one by a rival drug gang (and she was the first one shot). So I looked it up on the internet, and found nothing. I checked Snopes, and there were no results for her name. I also tried the words “drug dealer execute” and found nothing. So, has anyone else heard this one, or anything similar recently?
BTW, his “source” was “some news show last Saturday.” I haven’t seen the guy since then to ask for any further detail.
There was a big murder in the City this weekend, and it was a drug deal, but I don’t believe she was involved.

Now, from what I’ve heard on the radio, High Times had an interview with the female dealer, who apparently gave some of her supply away to medical marijuana patients, and so on.
Happened right above the Carnagie Deli

Aha, she was a featured dancer in Dirty Dancing.
Jennifer Stahl. Also, heard on the radio is that the killer intended to rob her, she wasn’t home, he came back and shot her.

This’ll give you the latest.
Glad to be of help.
There’s nothing about this in her IMDb entry, and they tend to be pretty up to date. (They already list the death of Robert Blake’s wife, for instance.) You do know, don’t you, that Cynthia Rhodes has been married to the singer Richard Marx for the past 12 years and has three sons. I’d say this story makes no sense. Tell your co-worker to get his facts straight henceforth.
It’s a pretty mean drug daeler that kills for a mark merely for having appeared in Dirty Dancing, but I’m pretty sure she’s still going strong
This is correct. Not Cynthia Rhodes but another dancer who was in “Dirty Dancing” was indeed killed in NYC. http://www.nytimes.com/2001/05/12/nyregion/12SHOO.html?searchpv=site04 (you may have to register to read the story, but it’s free)
Thanks, guys. I told Bob today about the mistake, and that it was another girl from “Dirty Dancing.” He said, “Oh, well my roommate said that his buddy saw it on the news that it was [long description of Cynthia Rhodes’s character in the film.]”
Go figure. Now I see how easy it is for UL’s to get spread around so quickly.
