I was talking with some friends at work about good movies for children when someone brought up The Wizard Of Oz. We all instantly began discussing the movie in detail which got me wondering: have you, or someone you know, not seen this movie?
I’ve only seen it in pieces, but never the entire movie. Why? I HATE IT! It just doesn’t appeal to me on any level.
Haven’t seen it. All I know about it springs from Jeopardy references. It is a musical, right? I can’t stand musicals, the songs slow down the pace of the movie and detract from my attention of what’s going on.
Anyhow, if you tell why it is supposed to be so good, I might give a shot and watch it, just for you.
I just saw it on TV tonight. It really isn’t that good. It had been a while sinced I last saw it and I didn’t remember how annoying Judy Garland’s voice was.
I think I’ve seen it once, when I was about 5. It’s not something I’m terribly anxious to repeat.
I saw it dubbed over in Spanish once. I really didn’t follow it that well.
Haven’t seen it. Like Mr. Blue Sky, it just doesn’t appeal to me on any level.
Does seeing “The Wiz” count? The Wizard of Oz is the “white” version of “The Wiz” isn’t it?
I have seen this film, though not since I was maybe 12. I however have not seen ET. I have little reason to.
I’ve listened to Dark Side of the Moon dozens of times. Does that count?
Side note - The book is a billion times better than the movie. If you haven’t seen the movie, don’t bother, just read it.
Damnit! I love Wizard of Oz!
Of course, it’s a musical with Judy Garland…I think, as a gay man, I’m required to like it. But I like it regardless…

I LOVE it. When it was re-released on the big screen back in October '98, I was there on opening night. It is so much better on the big screen than on TV. I haven’t read the book, so I can’t make a comparison there.
