Has anyone ordered from J-Crew on line?

'Cus I just did, and I’m wondering how it’s going to turn out.

I was pleased that they calculated in the taxes and duty I’m going to have to pay, so I knew up front the total cost. Also, they seem to have a pretty good return policy so if I’ve made a horrible mistake, hopefully I can fix it.

However, has anyone else ordered? How does their sizing run? I ordered this sweater and I took it in a large - my bust seemed to be inbetween sizes, so I thought I would go up to large - however, I’m hoping that it’s not going to be huge in the waist, because I’m quite a bit smaller than their large numbers.

Anyhow - has anyone ordered pants or skirts? I saw a couple that I really like, but bottoms are sometimes a bit more difficult on line.

so - anyone?

PS - if anyone wants to tell me that my sweater looks like a tablecloth, thats ok, 'cus I know it does, and I love it anyway.

Sorry to bump this, but surely SOMEONE else has ordered from J-Crew?

I have but I had tried some pants on in store and ordered a different color from online.
So, there you go.

Did you get the matching flip-flops?

I’m not really a flip-flop sort of girl. I almost got the matching skirt, but then I realized I would look like a potted plant.

Before kids, I ordered three times from JCrew.

Once was for a blue thin fleece pull over. It fit perfect but when I went to zip it up the zipper pully broke. I called on it and they sent out a new one and I…uh…never got around to sending the defective one back. Never charged me
They had a sweater clearanced out that I liked, but I had to put in an optional color choice in case the first choice was sold out. So I chose apple gree and then a gray as my alternate. Over a span of two weeks I received two apple greens and two gray and was only charged one!
WOOOOOO.!

The third was for a little jersy dress that I use as a beach cover up to this day and it looks brand new after 7 years. I loves it.

So, you can say I have had a pretty good run with them. Their stuff runs in the emaciated teen-sizing, but then so does everything else.

I’ve ordered from them online many times and been very pleased. Their sizing is very consistent, so I can’t tell you if your sweater will fit but if it does others probably will as well. The same thing with the pants, which I usually have trouble with. I have bought a wonderful suit from them as well. It’s about the only place I can shop for my age - it’s hard to be in your mid-20’s and try to dress between Britney and Maude sometimes. I just got the Kauai grass-colored floral skirt last week.

Their bathing suits are awesome, too.

Excellent - hopefully I’ll have as much luck as you guys!

Their sizing did seem to run small. Maybe I’ll try pants or skirt and go up a size, just to see how I fare…

I can’t speak to their women’s sizes, but I always had generally good luck ordering from them. Never had to trade anything in, though. I found that they tended to have great off-season clearance sales (with a bigger selection than I find in their stores at those times.)

Oh yeah, get on their e-mail list and they’ll let you know when they put a bunch of stuff on seasonal clearance. There are some extremely good deals then, and it’s nice - you just pick your size and it shows you everything on clearance that would fit you.

Their stuff is a little high, but I’ve found it to be entirely worth it; it’s well-made, attractive, durable, etc. If you shop wisely you get pretty good value for money, particularly on those sales. (Not that that cashmere sweater with the animals on it is $188 worth of cute… but it sure is a lot of cute.)

And it’s really lovely! It also fits perfectly - I’m definitely going to order from them again. Perhaps next time I’ll gamble on pants!

(NB Those who can’t believe how mundane and pointless this is, I direct you to the forum name…:))
