Some years ago I attended a local con where an amusing slideshow presentation was given. The presenter read a monologue about attending a con while showing slides of different pulp SF magazine covers that offered whimsical counterpoint to his narration. I’ve been puzzled by one cover that I’d like to know about the story behind it: it showed normal people entering a machine that turned them into imbelic-looking geekoids. Ring a bell anyone?
Nah. Too easy.
Any idea of the decade? It sounds more 50ish than before, and I have a good portion of 1950s sf magazines, and it doesn’t ring a bell. I also have several books full of covers.
Was it an actual pulp (large size) or a digest? That would also be a clue.
