Has anyone solved or been working on this puzzle?

Well I don’t think I need to put a link in a spoiler box. Here is a thread where they do a pretty good job in figuring most of it out (i haven’t read all of it yet). http://jhsrepair.com/tinp/index.php?showtopic=31&st=0

Well here’s what I’ve managed to work out so far.
The numbers end up translating to the text

"On the ZuiderZee
Th
hebban olla voga·a nesttas hagunnan
hinase hi© (e)nd thu

uu(at) unbida(n) (uu)e nu"

The words “Hebban olla vogala nestas hogunnan, hinase hic enda thu” form the oldest Dutch sentence, written by a monk for practice. The words heard at page load translate to AHSPN WRSFR, according to the phonetic alphabet. I have no clue what that might stand for though, and so I’m still scratching my head.
OK well I’ve gotten a few pages further, but I can’t really figure out what the heck I’m supposed to be doing, or if I’m even doing anything anyway. Argh. Who linked me to this??

The Truck page words. No idea what it means. Which is page 3 of the puzzle.
On the Zuiderzee
That old fishing sea,
The Faeiries stole,
The boys of Marken

The old name of the site of the boy’s disappearance is the name of the place you must go.

hebban olla vogala nesta hagunnan
hinase hi© (e)nd thu
uu(at) unbida(n) (uu)e nu
The people studying this intently discovered that

the location where a Dutch boy drowned in a well-publicized incident must be typed into the url

How did you get what’s in the spoiler box? Because I can’t see that at all on the source code page.

What did I miss?

If you highlight the page, you’ll reveal hidden text - but if you read the other clues above they’ll tell yuo what to actually do with that text.

I did highlight the page, but it didn’t say that - it looked like random characters code - perhaps an ASCII drawing of a crown or something. How do I get those random characters to be the phrases that Sublight typed in?

Oy. I wish I’d never found this thing!

So what’s the location where the Dutch boy drowned? I can’t find it. And what’s the significance of the phrase “He will die alone” that pops up when you click on the truck?

Not that I figured it out myself, but

A poem about the Zuiderzee appears elsewhere in the puzzle – Zuiderzee is now called IJsselmeer and a boy drowned there.

If you translate the series of numbers in the title bar, you get this:

On the Zuiderzee
That old fishing sea,
The Fairies stole,
The boys of Marken

We’ve apparently just stumbled on this puzzle.

These folks have been on it for some time.

Moving on to the page after the truck page,

How come the riddle says that the *old * name of the place of the boy’s disappearance is where we must go next, when isn’t IJsselmeer the *new * name? (IJsselmeer being what you have to type into the URL to move on).

Oh, and amarinth,

to get that phrase from those characters, copy them and paste in Word, then change the font size to 2. That’s all you have to do.

Oh, and a really big spoiler here,

Isn’t it kind of funny how this whole thread is composed of spoiler tags? Do we really need to use them anymore? I can’t imagine there’s anyone here skimming the thread and avoiding the spoiler boxes because there wouldn’t be anything left for them to read!

amarinth, I forgot to mention that font is important and Courier New will do nicely
(this doesn’t really need a spoiler box, does it?)

I think I have just about figured out the one that is all black!

Ok, the Aegean Sea was supposedly named after King Ageus drowned in the sea because his son, Theseus, forgot to raise the white sail whenver he defeated the Minotaur.

Things to note:
It references “Master and Betrayer” on the password display
Suger is not spelled sugar
I am clueless other than that

Other things I noticed. The title bar changes from “A moth flew in the room when I di4d” to “A moth flew in the room when I di4d#”

Hotspots status text:

404 Broken (Lower left corner, by Kris’ name. Also, if you click here, it will pop up a box saying “Ouch, stop that”)

http://www.thisisnotporn.com/DM/inthedarkness/lineoflights.jpg (There’s a long status bar text here involving “Sheepman” and words that run together for some reason; the hotspot is along the bottom, to the right of Kris’ name.)

http://www.thisisnotporn.com/DM/inthedarkness/2/toto.htm (Mid left hand side of the screen, above Kris’ name. This seems to be a fairly narrow column, so it probably is important)

I can’t figure out what I’ve done to get this to occur, but eventually, along the right hand side of the screen is a hotspot that reads “WALLS 1F WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN”

And there’s a sound in the loop that sounds distinctly (to me) like pool balls clicking together.

Argh.

Ok, sorry for posting again but …

The WALLS 1F WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN seems to be a time activated thing - all the hotspots that read the “sheepman” text before now say this. Is there an easy way to plot the hotspots into a polygon to see what shape it is?

Thank you, I thought I was insane for not being able to see what everyone else seemed to be seeing.

Can someone tell me how to get past the How Could You Do This To Me/A Future Lived in Past Tense page?

I already translated “The old name of the site of the boy’s disappearance is name of the place you must go” and “whatcomesafterwetireofchasingwildsheep?” and indeed, What a lovely drape they make, but I have no idea what that means.

If I knew how to do the spoiler boxes, I could tell you what the username and password is for Whatalovelydrapetheymake.
