Has anyone sung Mendelssohn's Lobgesang?

I’ve been offered the opportunity of singing in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang Symphony (aka the Symphony No 2 in B Flat Major, Opus 52). Has anybody been involved in performances of this work?

I haven’t but, hey, it’s a Mendelssohn choral work! What could possibly be NOT to like?

Of course. I’ve already accepted the offer, but I thought I’d see if anyone else had any comments, thoughts etc.
