One small truckload was $800+, AND they take your “junk” to a warehouse and sort through it for possible resale. For perspective a 30 cubic yard dumpster from the garbage company is 450. Their truck was maybe 1/5 of that.
Best bet is to find a contractor with a dump trailer and pay laborers to load it and haul it off. I did, and they took 3x what the got-junk guy did…for $400. 4 guys 4 hours full trailer and 8 ft pickup bed full…everybody was happy, mostly them for the money.
If you have no problem throwing stuff in a dumpster yourself, but just have no way to haul it away, you can rent fairly large dumpsters from a couple hundred bucks.
I looked into that because I always saw them at Home Depot but I ended up getting a larger dumpster for $200something from a local semi-celebrity company. I know Home Depot and other places also offer the dumpsters.
I’ve used them a couple of times when we were renovating our house. They hauled away construction debris. They were expensive, but no surprises in their service, it cost what we agreed I would pay.
