OK, my boss just asked me to show that internet coverage actually *increases *TV viewing of sporting events (why me? I dunno, I’m a developer and this sounds like marketing… but bosses are caprecious.)
After about 45 minutes of googling, I still have nothing. Anyone out there have any idea?
Don’t know myself. But sports are ideally suited right now to TV, and not well suited to the Internet, at least for live coverage.
Sports is typically enjoyed as a live event in standard or high definition video. Internet cannot provide this right now. It can, however, compliment this with analysis, commentary, statistics readily available, user controlled instant replay, and other user involvement such as rotisserie leagues or sports pools.
