Has Political Correctness Gone Mad?

You haven’t left me enough time to reserve my flight to the UK.

American, eh. You only read anything by people you’ve heard of then. How odd.

Did ANYONE see the documentary last night? We do have some Brits on here don’t we?

Y’know, we just had another thread on this.

And you know what happened there? Everyone talked past each other, because nobody knew what other people meant by “Political Correctness”. So just as a general rule of thumb, whenever I see “Political Correctness” and that poster has not defined what that term means to them, I’m going to just mentally replace it with “flibbertygibbets” and see if that makes the post spontaneously start to make sense.

How about you start, OP, by defining what you mean by “political correctness”? What is it? How is it defined? What does it encompass?

That’s not “charitable”, that is the context in which the statement is made. That is what it means. It’s like saying it’s charitable to interpret “we don’t need no water let the motherfuckers burn” as a song reference just because you don’t listen to the bloodhound gang.

He’s Canadian, eh?

Oh yeah, there are a lot (well, more than one) of Brits on the board who love to criticize America for being too liberal. Bewildering, but there it is.

Would you care to paraphrase Philips arguments for us? In the interest of debate?

Don’t hold your breath waiting.

I see no debate posited. Closed.
