One thing the left and the right can agree on is Putin is probably the most dangerous leader of another nation.
If no proof of collusion is found, and nothing shows a single vote was comprised, what type of political damage has the President of the United States sustained? Might Putin be the biggest winner of this Russian interference business?
We already know putin tries to empower both the left and right here. He supported Trump and white nationalism groups but putin also supported Jill stein, black lives matter etc.
His goal is to sow chaos and civil war here. And he is doing a great job.
As far as collusion, trumps campaign manager and head of intelligence have already been sentenced for collusion with foreign nations. I’m not too worried that no evidence will be found.
If no evidence of collusion with Russia by Trump personally is found by Mueller, fine. I assume Mueller is competent. But there are other Russia investigations like the butina investigation. Also the nra may have laundered Russian money to support republican candidates.
But that doesn’t change the endless other crimes Trump and his circle committed. Ties to turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China, etc. Campaign finance fraud. Fraudulent charities. Tax fraud. Obstruction of justice, etc.
The Mueller investigation is just one investigation into Russian ties, and Russian ties are just one of endless other crimes that is suspected.
Wait, so the words of every single intelligence agency saying Russia interfered with our recent elections means Russia DIDN’T interfere and is now stronger, even though anyone with simultaneously firing neurons can see they interfered with our elections?
TIL Republicans like Comey and Mueller are “the left”.
You say that tongue I cheek but to. Alot of Trump supporters, yes they are.
A lot of Trump supporters want law enforcement to act like they act in third world dictatorships. There the job of law enforcement is kangaroo trials of political adversaries and covering up crimes of the government. They’re enraged the fbi is being honest and fair, which means they investigate Republicans as well as democrats.
I hope to God these dangerous, neofascist idiots don’t permanently harm our democracy.
By fueling the fire and fanning the flames of collusion, which of course is a fantasy pipe dream with over two years of nothing, they are playing into Putin’s hands. The left has empowered Putin with this collusion nonsense, and there was no interference on the level of changing votes.
Ironic, when Trump said the election was rigged, many on the left frowned and laughed. Now, that is what they are running with and there is a political price to pay.
Oh, you’re one of those who refuses to admit the collusion happened. You do know that even Trump’s own family admitted to the collusion, right? And that the “nothing” that’s been happening for the past two years has included a lot of indictments and convictions?
What “of course”? We watched Trump ask Russia to meddle on TV. He invited the Russian media into his office and told them the heat was off now that he’d fired Comey. His worthless son met with Russian lawyers to discuss easing sanctions against Russia at a meeting Trump denied ever occurred until it turned out he was telling his son how to respond to the press about said meeting. His worthless son-in-law tried to establish out-of-the-loop private communications with Russia. Trump insists on believing what Putin says rather than what his own intelligence agencies say concerning Russia’s electoral espionage. Every time Trump has a decision to make concerning Russia, it benefits Russia.
It’s hard to explain all this in the context that Trump is not under Putin’s thumb, but if you’d like to give it a shot be my guest.
Exit strategy? Like your exit strategy when you proudly proclaimed that a politician that says “motherfucker” should leave office immediately? Brave, brave Sir Robin.
Russia interfered. Full stop. When you wrap your head around that one, come back and try to play again.
Rachel Maddow is pretty sane in general. She’s been hammering on this story for a couple years now. It sounded like a crackpot conspiracy theory to me, but she’s made a real case. Trump is in surprisingly tight with someone Russian, probably from the Kremlin, and doesn’t seem to respect the CIA & FBI. He favors a Kremlin viewpoint & acts like a Kremlin agent.
This is real. It’s bizarre, but it’s real. The Kremlin got him.
Are you suggesting that if a political party sees something or someone as a threat, they should really keep it quiet, for fear of empowering that thing or person?
I think this is an analogue to the familiar “if you didn’t complain about racism (which isn’t really/too big a problem) so much, people wouldn’t be so quote unquote racist” argument.
If so, don’t be shocked that it’s a bit hard to follow.
