Has the media misrepresented the incident with the Covington Cathlic kids?

Its “the blacks”, you know that’s what he’s going to say, why even ask!

Since the topic is “media misrepresentation”, surely you can come up with one or two.

I read that article.

Oh yeah, such brave people. They wont admit they were in the wrong calling the students racist. Calling them hatemongers. Calling for them to be expelled. Fanning the flames to where they were getting death threats.

Oh, so brave. They delete their texts. Cant admit they are stupid idiots and apologizing to the kids.

I bet they are democrats.

That “backlash” was closing their school, assault, and even murder.

But that’s ok I guess. They were wearing MAGA hats.

Why would I bother? I don’t need it to support a claim I’ve made and I’ve already conceded there’s probably some out there.

Then it’s your view that this kid deserves to have his life threatened because you don’t approve of his hat. What if he wore a hoodie, or earmuffs? Would you still hate him if he wasn’t white?

A “victim” would be a teenager who was simply standing on the Lincoln Memorial steps when he was targeted by an old man, and his entourage, for simply standing on the Lincoln Memorial steps.

Good! Maybe some people will learn something from it and quit believing the lame street media.

Yes like dear leader said you can’t believe what your eyes and ears are telling you, only believe what dear leader says.

“what you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening”

George Orwell called and he wants his bit back.

Quote me next time and then respond to what I actually say-your interpretations suck.

“Lots of shame to go around here?” Is that the frackin best you can say.

A NA activist stood there beating his drum in some kids face. The kid stood there and smiled. And that kid should now be expelled, beaten up, or even murdered?

Oh, you want them “shamed”? For what?

Tomahawk chops and doing indian war chants - you call that racist? Damn, what rock do you live under? Didnt you watch the Chiefs vs Patriots game last sunday? I’m from Kansas City and its the normal chant for the Chiefs and other teams. Watch that attached video and you will see a stadium of 30,000 Chiefs fans doing it.

Is everyone of them also a racist?

No, the kids didnt do a damn thing wrong. They should NOT be shamed. They should be held up as heroes for standing their ground, showing restraint, and holding onto the beliefs.

My God, that changes everything. How many of them have been murdered?

Has anyone on this board advocated murder or physical harm on behalf of those kids?

The bolded part is disingenuous: it isn’t the hat, it’s the message on the hat that is met with disapproval. I suspect that you knew this, but were writing deliberately so as to create a false picture of what is being met with disapproval, in a pathetic attempt to re-write what happened and the positions of the people involved. It’s an obvious and really poor attempt at spin or PR control and should have no place in a serious discussion, IMO.

Prolly. Do the Chiefs have permission from even one Native American tribe to use their imagery and customs? :dubious:

What beliefs were they “holding onto” by not allowing another person to pass unhindered or unharmed? What grand idealogical tenet was at stake here, for the kids, that they so boldly resisted? :dubious::rolleyes:

No, this board is pretty carefully watched for that kind of behavior.
OTOH, many in the lame street media have. I hope they get sued.

No, this ill-mannered children who shouted and did the “tomahawk chop” to denigrate native Americans(NOT cheer them) are racists, without question, and anyone that would call them “heroes” for doing it…

WHO HERE HAS SAID THEY WANT ANYONE MURDERED?

Name someone in the professional media that has called for murder.

From the first few pages of the other thread:

Context for the following quote was that another poster advocated “elbowing” the teens, since groin or throat-punches are not subtle enough and may land you in jail:

Racism doesn’t suddenly become okay because there were some other people provoking you.

There is additional context that was left out originally, but none of it changes the primary reason to be upset at these college students.

They wore MAGA hats despite that having nothing to do with their supposed purpose, which was a pro-life protest, and then acted like exactly what MAGA does mean, telling different colored people to go back to their own country and otherwise pushing racist slurs.

It is ridiculous how the news organizations are backpedaling, rather than simply pointing out the additional context. They are not only overcompensating, but making attacks on their veracity (by places like Fox) look legitimate.

Do they not understand the “fake news” battle, and how their integrity is under attack? You don’t give in and grant them a win when you were perfectly accurate. Don’t give them more ammunition.

The belief wasnt to just back down because some jerk doesnt like them. Their only “crime” was being white and wearing a politically incorrect hat.

They should be admired for showing such restraint.

No, the Chiefs dont need to.

They were not stopping him from passing. He was being an asshole walking into their midst beating his stupid drum. They let him thru. But his intent wasnt just “walking thru” he was their to confront and anger. The kids at first didn’t know what to make of it and actually started to chant with him.

So what should he have done if some asshole was yelling at him beating his drum inches from his face? Would you have had such restraint?
