Hate filling up for gas in the cold of winter? I feel like I need to share this

I just recently discovered this and I just love it so much.

I used the Kroger app. But if Kroger has it I’m sure others do too.

So I pull up to the pump, open my app, enter the pump number and turn the pump on. The app will apply any points you may have and pay for the gas; while you stay warm and toasty in your car. All you have to do is pump the gas. No more freezing your buns off as you try to enter all your information in at the control panel.

That’s it. I figured I’d share since we are an older bunch here and may not be up to date on all things technology. Lol

Is this in New Jersey? Oregon? Cuz here in Chicago I still need to get out of the car and put the gas nozzle into the car and wait for it to fill-up and put it back. Which means I am out in the cold doing it. Pushing the buttons on the machine adds a minute to the process…doing it from the car would be better but not a deal breaker.

agreed with @Whack-a-Mole, isn’t most of the time spent pumping, not setting it up?
Also, do they not have a reader where you can just tap/scan your phone & it reads the info from there so you don’t need to type anything in? (I’m not in Kroger country to know their specifics)

Heh. The trick to gassing up and not gettin’ cold is make someone else do it.

(Thx, Ivy. You’re my hero!)

I’m in Texas.

Here you can put the nozzle in the car, put the little lever down so that it stays on. And then get back in your car. When it’s full it will cut off automatically.

They took that option away a long time ago where I live.

You’re not supposed to do that; especially when it’s cold, which means dryer air, sliding out of the car it a great way to build up static; when you touch the handle the spark can ignite fumes

I solved this issue by putting a refueling station in my garage.

Hasn’t killed me yet!
