What I want is a locked pinned Site Feedback thread named “How to Post Embedded Videos” with just 1 post which gives the exact recipe for the workaround.
So whenever somebody says " I can’t post a vid!", we just reply w that link.

Can we pester them about this one too. They seem to be ignoring it.
Because mods can’t do anything about it.
I doubt the admins can fix bugs. What they can change are options for how the boards will work for our site, like allowing images from other sites but not storing pictures.
At my previous job, the system had a Facebook like interface that displayed the videos and website thumbnails like here. We used a third party to generate the display - someone would post a video, it would be sent to their site which would generate the html, store it on their site, and a key would be generated that was put into the post text. Then when our site was to display the link, we would make a request for the display and they would display it in the post.
(Note: it’s been at least 5 years since I worked on that, I’m a little fuzzy on the details now)
Administrators, yes. Moderators, no. Earlier, pjd was asking if mods could address the other issue, and the answer is no, they can’t.
I was sure engineer_comp_geek was able to address another issue which just
required changing some site option/setting before.
I could be mistaken of course, it wouldn’t be the first time !
