Here are some things that are shared by the states of Oregon and Washington:
- Legal marijuana (not just medical MJ) (just passed by Oregon, won’t actually take effect until next July)
- Physician-assisted suicide approved by legislation (as opposed to court ruling)
- Automatic minimum wage indexing. The two states have the highest minimum wages of any states.
- Vote-by-mail for all voters
OK, they’re not the only states to have these things. Other states have some of them, but not all. Colorado has three of them (all but #2), so it’s close to being a member of the club.
Note that all the things listed are legal-type things, not, for example, geographical things. So any state can adopt them.
