Have you ever been handcuffed by law enforcement personnel?

I was guilty, and so was Officer Cindy.

Yes, I have been handcuffed by law enforcement personnel. The chief of police in a nearby jurisdiction.

He and some of his officers trained with us in judo and jujitsu, and he demonstrated handcuffing techniques and needed an uke. Some of the techniques involved are rather painful, even apart from the jointlock/restraint hold and takedown that precedes it.

Shodan

Yes. It was unpleasant.

Yes, but only for training purposes (while in the USN, TAD to the ship’s Master at Arms force).

As a teenager, I joined a civil disobedience action, and insisted on being arrested as part of it. I refused to give my age until I was arraigned. Police really don’t like that, it turns out.

In retrospect, it wasn’t the best-considered political action in history. However, as an act of teenage impulsivity, it wasn’t too bad.

I know this is old but I missed it the last time. I’ve had them on but only during training.

For certain people that is the point. Allegedly.

I was put in hand cuffs for the inexcusably offensive crime of…failing to show proof of valid insurance. That’s right. “But!” I hear you say, “why did you get pulled over?”. Well, the exact words out of the cop’s mouth were “you were driving too perfectly”. Yup. Btw, I DID have valid insurance, I just didn’t have the current card on me. And due to DMV fuckup, it looked like a 2nd offense. SOOOOOO, for driving too perfectly, I got hauled downtown and spent the night in jail. Car was impounded for a MONTH before my court date. What happened on my court date? The prosecutor didn’t even show up. Case dismissed. Right? Wrong! Case was continued for aNOTHER 2 weeks. Then finally got a $50 fine after proving I had valid insurance. Plus $400 court costs. Plus $3000 impound charges. All for driving too perfectly.

I left Ohio for good a month later.

No, but I have been treated with suspicion by security and law enforcement people. Also followed by a police car once. That was pretty spooky. I would imagine that handcuffs would be horrible.

A few times; I just have one of those faces LEO like to slap cuffs on. Once I was riding in a group with several people who turned out to be wanted for one thing or another - we all got matching bracelets until the checks on us came back. Another after an incident in a bar; I wasn’t involved but I was there and it was a risky situation for the cops to straighten out. Another time driving through a neighborhood at night that old white people just aren’t supposed to visit. I didn’t like it but I understood.

One I related in other threads was a few years back when I decided to shave everything and portray a Delaware for a historic event. The neighbors saw me entering my house the next day and called the cops about a possible break-in. Cops arrived, didn’t buy my ID since all that has hair and a full beard, and cuffed me on my own couch until they could verify. I guess I could have been pissed off about it but personally I found it funny as Hell.

I’m another person who’s been handcuffed in law enforcement training.

Yes… The Sixties were a turbulent time

yep once, with two sets of bracelets and a set of thumb cuffs cause I was such a skinny lad at 18 that they couldn’t make the cuffs tight enough to keep me from being able to work my hands out (did lose a little skin too, but not much):o:D:cool:

As I related once before here, I was once cuffed and almost arrested for walking funny.

Nope.

Never, which surprises even me. Hmmm… only 6 women have participated so far.

They are doing it wrong.

What about brothels whose gimmick is uniforms? Would that count? Just curious, mind you.

We need a smilie for <salute>

That’s a wise plan, and they would not want to be made aware of any mistake – since they don’t take that well.

Yes, I’ve been handcuffed. And I was on crutches at the time with my foot in a cast.

I asked the cop if he really thought I would try to make a break for it, and he laughed and said that it was regulations.
