Obnoxious person on the street approaches trying to sell me something and I just look very confused at said person and say with a perfect french accent, while shaking my head, “je ne parle pas anglais”.
Works like a charm.
My SO speaks Spanish fluently so he is always translating what people are saying around us. He also wants me to learn spanish so he can talk about people without them knowing.
