Have you heard the expression Pizza "Bones"

While watching the NFL over the weekend I told the guys that, this one time, the dog could have any pizza bones that were left over.

None of the other guys had heard the expression. It was common where I grew up.

(We used it to refer to the crust that some people don’t eat.)

I’ve seen or heard it once, but never in person.

Yes - I knew exactly what it meant from the thread title. My family and friends didn’t use that expression though. I think I learned it from a book I read at some point when I was 10 or so.
ETA: I grew up in the southeastern US if that makes a difference.

Never heard it used but have seen it in print more than once over 10 years ago. I can’t recall what novels it was in but it struck me as a clever little phrase.

Yep, everyone I know uses it, or at least knows what it means.

Yep, heard/started using it sometime in the early 80’s.

Our dogs are quite familiar with the term.

Common term around here.

I love pizza with Soylent Green topping!

Common term in Toronto.

Never heard it before but it was immediately obvious what it meant.

This.

Same here.

Never heard it, either, but I assume it means the leftover crust edges. Thing is, I actually don’t know anyone offhand I eat pizza with that leaves the crust. The wife & I certainly don’t.

I’ve heard it before growing up. Along with 'za and pizza pie. Terms all which make me cringe.

Yes, common expression.

My mother said it in front of my kids once. That’s all the boys call uneaten crusts now.

I live in Toronto and I’ve never heard it used in person. But YMMV.

I think I only heard it once, about 10 years ago, from a coworker. I now use the expression myself on rare occasion.

Never heard it before, but I like it. I am going to start using it.
