Have you seen a worse corn maze than this one?

I just saw that story on the news, and immediately thought of this thread.

I suspect this was the wrong family to be doing a complex maze – they had a young kid and a three-week old , and it was getting dark. Of course they wanted out fast. It think they might’ve gotten lost in the OP’s maze.
According to the news, the owner offered them free tickets if they wanted to come back and try again. They refused.

Couldn’t you just note the direction of the setting sun and plow yourself through the corn stalks in the exact opposite direction you entered?

ETA: I guess that assumes you took note of your direction upon entry.

It was dark.

OOps, I somehow thought it said “getting dark.” OK

Assuming you were stuck in the position of that couple and you had no cell phone, what would you do?

Could you just pick a direction, perhaps based upon a star, moon, cloud, and walk in a straight line until you are out?

Who takes a three week old baby into a corn maze???

They Who Walk Behind the Rows.

So people are familiar with these things? What are they?! Well, that I could tell, but what I really want to know is…WHY? Why are they?

They are just a fun thing people do in the fall, like apple picking and punkin’ chunkin’.

Here is this year’s maze in these parts. Look how small the cars are to get an idea of how big it is. All those curves are going to make it harder. We get a punch card to punch at different stations. The challenge is to get the whole card punched and, in doing so, visit every part of the maze.

And mazes usually have some sort of gate fee. I was in this MAiZE a few years back.
