Now that was a season finale.
I’ll spoiler just in case anybody hasn’t seen it:
I wonder if they’ll change the name of the series to PotUS next season.

I did enjoy that, thought the bathroom scene was hilarious, I have a suspicion the two of them lost it for real.
Yeah, when she looked at him sprawled over the toilet and cracked up, it looked like JLD in Seinfeld outtakes, when she would crack up on set. I think they just went with it. I’m thinking there is probably only one more season for the show as they plow through the primaries to the national election. There would be no point for the show beyond that. It really has been a gem.
They’d be right to do that. Armando Ianucci killed off “the thick of it” when he thought he’d took it as far as it could go and a quick stint as POTUS would round things off nicely for Selena and the team and avoid the risk of it becoming too familiar and soap-opera-ish
That was really, really fun!!
The next season is going to be craaaaaazy with material of her trying to win an election and having to be POTUS. Can’t wait!
I find the show hilarious when the characters are talking among themselves in rapid-fire vicious sarcasm, but when the Veep interacts with the public in an inevitably cringable manner I have to skip ahead.
I’d kinda like the show to get occasionally serious. As the Veep was giving her awful World War I speech to the Brits, I mentally wrote a much better speech that I flatter myself is almost Sorkinable.
I just love how they lost it, and yet remained Selena and Gary, not Julia and Tony
You see this from time to time on “the thick of it” especially with Ollie and Glenn. You can tell the actors are veering off course but having immense fun. It beaks the “slickness” of fully scripted scenes but does hammer home the fact that these are probably real people…even though they aren’t…you know what I mean.
