HDD crash, anyone know what the code means. Or whree to find it?

My 120GB Seagate is suffering a bit of boot failure. I burned the diagnostic ISO from their site and during the long test (short test passed) I got 99 read errors. It’s under warranty til 12/09.

When I talked to SG last week they told me to run the program and call with the error code to see if the warranty covers whatever caused the crash. I suck at looking up error codes so I’m hoping someone can help me out as they’re not open til tomorrow.

The only thing that looks like a code is “POH 12006”. The model number is ST3120026A. Any help would be appreciated.

What program? It may not be an error code at all, but merely a hash which verifies that the test was run. See the Seagate Support Knowledge Base:

What does the diagnostic code mean?
The diagnostic code is used in our RMA system to validate that the drive had actually been tested by PowerMax and is not used to determine the type of failure.

If the above is the returned diagnostic code, it’s an eight digit code which means that something in the drive has failed and it needs to be replaced.

What to do if PowerMax generates an eight digit diagnostic code:
Replace the drive. An eight digit diagnostic code indicates that the drive is failing and should be replaced as soon as possible.
