George Clooney. He plays George Clooney very well, but I’ve never seen him play anything else besides George Clooney.
dropzone:
Wife was channel surfing and passed by a Matt Smith Doctor Who . I yelped and said that, in this house–and our children will back me on this–you never pass up Doctor Who, even though they are all on Netflix and Hulu. She switched back but while I was distracted she changed the channel to what looked like an old episode of Renegade , with Lorenzo Lamas, and stayed there. When that program was new her comment was, “The problem with this show is that he’s wearing altogether too much clothing.”
You should see if you can find “The Joe Schmo Show” Season 3. He’s actually a decentish actor when he’s not hampered by the writing on Renegade (which was not good). That show also solves the problem of his wearing too many clothes (“European Casual Pouch”)
My nomination to the thread - the whole slew of Canadian produced shows that air on SyFy. I’m ashamed to say how many of them I watch. The acting isn’t ever very good, the plots don’t make any sense at all, they have iffy-to-bad direction and special effects, and the dialog tends to be awful, but they do seem to find a lot of pretty people to put on the screen.

I disagree. In fact, he’s done enough interesting, off-beat roles (12 Monkeys , the killer in Kalifornia , the stoner in True Romance ) that some of us wonder if he’d have had a better career were he NOT so handsome!
He’s so good looking that he’s been pushed into mainstream leading man roles that don’t really suit him. If he were a bit uglier, he might be known as a great indie star or a superb character actor.
I think it was here I saw him described as a character actor with leading man looks and thought that described him exactly.
Knowed_Out:
Theo James.
I remember him from a BBC miniseries about a hotel that used to be a mental institute run by a sadistic doctor who is now undead and kidnapping and torturing the guests. Theo had some kind of psychic sense and a compulsion to help the victims, but he just looked so out of place. All he did was mumble his lines and mingle with the regular-looking people, who were played by actual talented actors. They managed to make his lack of emotional spread look like he was being aloof and mysterious, but he was so obviously cast for his looks instead of talent.
We used to have that show in the U.S., but it was called The Ghost Whisperer .
The version I heard was “A character actor trapped in a leading man’s body”.

As Jim Belushi’s character said to Rob Lowe in About Last Night: “You know what your problem is? You’re too good looking. Women are intimidated. The best thing that could happen to you is an industrial accident.”

Can you be more specific? Just a large penis, or like a third ball?

I’m sure a few people might disagree, but Brad Pitt never struck me as anything other than exceptionally pretty. If he had average looks and the same level of acting talent, he would never have become a super-star. But damn if I’m ever going to change the channel on him!
My vote as well. He doesn’t do much talking in Legends of the Fall and that’s fine with me. ** Troy **gets watched with the Mute button on.
No mention of Ashton Kucher? First guy I thought of.
But Industrial Accident Rob Lowe would be stuck watching cable.
Matt Bomer, primarily of White Collar fame. The whole show…premise, plots, and acting, are just silly, but criminitely…that is one beautiful man.
Matt Bomer. Actor: In Time. Matthew Staton Bomer was born in Webster Groves, Greater St. Louis, Missouri, to Elizabeth Macy (Staton) and John O'Neill Bomer IV, a Dallas Cowboys draft pick. Matt was raised in Spring, Texas, and educated at Klein High...
