Heading to Portland, OR soon! Oooh!

So, since this seems to be a pretty good place to do it (I’ve seen the other threads), what’s the haps in Portland? I’m probably going to be there for three days, including a saturday. I will be working, so I’ll be occupied until early afternoons.

Restaurants, attractions, events, all are good!

The more I teaches you, the dumber you gets.

I’m traveling there 4/28. You can look up some info on this tourist link. I am hooking up with an old friend from Eugene. He says Saturday market and the Alladin theater are cool.

Have fun! I know I will.

That should be **Aladdin **.

Although I live nearby I’ve only been to Portland a handful of times. Highlights from the few times I have been there include the big bookstore downtown (Powell’s?) and Multnomah Falls, which is 20-30 miles east of town on the Columbia River.

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
“It’s the same thing,” he said.

My fave restaurants downtown are:
Berbati’s: Greek
Brasserie Montmarte:French
Bush Garden: Japanese
Atwaters: Well, I can’t even afford water there, but the view

As for what to do… there ain’t much. Luckily, we’ve entered the season where you might just see a good day. And our good days are prettier than anywhere on earth.

I am human, and I need to be loved
Just like anybody else does

Right on.

You’ll have a blast here in the Rose City!

  • Catch a Big-League baseball game downtown
  • Ride on the fastest and tallest roller coaster in the US at Six Flags over Portland
  • Explore our shining underground caverns
  • Take the Rose City ferry over to Japan
  • Check out our nude beaches on the pristine Willamette River
  • Visit the real grave of Jesse James
  • It’s legal to smoke weed here, so go into any coffee house and light up!
  • Hike the whole Lewis and Clark Trail for some fascinating history
  • Catch and skin your very own beaver.
  • If you can make it towards the end of May, don’t miss our bacchanal Mardi-gras - it’s out of control!

Yet to be reconciled with the reality of the dark for a moment, I go on wandering from dream to dream.

Wow! All the things I always wanted to do, and more! I can’t wait to get there, especially since there’s legal spliff!

Thanks for all the ideas, folks! (even you, you silly samurai)
