Heads Up for Simpsons fans who don't watch Survivor and CSI

Homer Simpson will be reading tonight’s top ten list on Late Show with David Letterman.

That is all.

“Raid your writing staff!” Ha ha ha ha ha ha! I don’t get it.

Seriously, what’s the story behind that one? Are any Simpsons writers originally from Letterman’s show?

Animation on “live” TV usually has the problem that the characters don’t wait for people to stop applauding.

What was the last thing Homer said after number one?

Max Harvey: I believe so. I’ve heard many times that Krusty the Klown is based very closely on Letterman.

I don’t know about Letterman, but Conan O’Brien used to be a writer for the Simpsons.

So does anybody have a transcript?

CBS always puts up the previous night’s top ten on their web site.

He was saying something about “where’s my money”.

Rusty Nails is a longtime kiddie show host in Portland where Groening grew up. He has a web site and “Rusty the clown” appeared as a balloon in a Simsons episode.

And Krusty’s voice is based on Bob Bell, who played Bozo the Clown in Chicago forever. Well, at least while Dan Castalaneta was growing up in the area.
