Heads up for the best meteor shower of 2007

Grey and sleeting today in the LoHud. Clouds expected all night. Dang.

Falmouth area. I am sure I could drive around and find some where that is clear and dark enough. Though I miss being able to walk in the back around and enjoy it from home. Not something that I can do this year.

I will try tomorrow (14th) night, as 1. I’m too sick to be out tonight (febrile etc) and 2. it’s cloudy. I’ve managed to miss most celestial things due to cloudiness, too.
:frowning:

Just saw a few coming home from a night out. I’m waking up the family to go outside again at 130-2am. Should be directly above us by then

We woke up at 1:45am EST, and went outside. Gemini was directly overhead, so we just laid down on the sidewalk in front of our house (townhouse development) and looked up. Anyone looking outside probably would have called the cops about the 2 bodies on the sidewalk :stuck_out_tongue: . We saw a couple dozen in the 1/2 hour we stayed out there. Most were VERY quick, fleeting “blips”, but a couple were long streakers. It was worth it missing the sleep!

Completely flat grey sky here - does not look hopeful.

Solid, dense cloud cover last night. Will eyeball the sky tonight, with waning hope.

Sailboat

I don’t even know if we can see it from where we are, but my fiance and I were talking about it so I went to the bedroom windows to see if I could see anything. Nothing but clouds. But I was like: [awestruck voice] It’s beeeeeaaaaauuuuutiful!

Then he came running to see and I laughed at him.

It WAS brilliantly sunny most of today, but now it is cloudy with snow showers predicted through Sunday. <curse you Mother Nature!>

Still cloudy here, but I think it is thinning. I’ll check again before I go to bed.
