Monday! Monday! Monday! One day only! July 2nd, 2007, the Great American Race stops in Nashville!
Lane Motor Museum is delighted to announce that the Museum will host approximately 75 classic cars participating in the Great American Race 2007, to be held on the early evening of July 2, 2007. The cross-country race for classic cars will celebrate its 25th Anniversary as a part of its annual 4,000-mile journey across the U.S. The Lane Motor Museum stop will be on the 3rd day of the 14 day race, and the race stop activities will begin at 4:00 pm. The cars will begin to arrive at approximately 5:15 p.m. (A general schedule is listed below). The event is open to the public and this is the first time that the Museum will be open during evening hours.
They came to town about 10 years ago, and I got to catch it then. It was a pretty neat event with all kinds of old cars (it’s also how I learned that Tucker cribbed some of his ideas from Packard).
