So, “another great drama on TNT” seems to be falling flat with me and apparently the people of the Dope, because I haven’t seen another thread on it since the one I started last week. Suppoosedly The Closer is the most watched drama on cable TV, and TNT is trying to set up another one in its wake, but I don’t see it happening.
This show is macabre. When they showed the pimp beating up the hooker simply as a set-up for her to be a transplant candidate, I winced.
Also, the storylines seem to come together so neatly, with the transplant procurer typically getting hearts, lungs, etc that are perfectly matched to candidates waiting in her area. Besides that, the whole “I know this isn’t a good time” thing resonates and you feel its power the first few times, but I think it will get old pretty fast.
And Treat Williams is even more one-dimensional than he was in Everwood. Something tells me he should have done “The Substitute” TV series before doing this role.
