There was never a sequel. Not to that, either. Han shot first. Joss Whedon is my master now.

Incidentally, the French magazine was Métal Hurlant – ‘Howling metal’.
“Don’t worry… I’ve got an annnn-GLE” I love that line, and still use it to this day.
Great movie, if you don’t take it too seriously.
“It’s MY lok-nar, give it to me, you bitch!”
“I gave her the Stars & Stripes… forever…”
So many great lines, I wish I had a copy of my own. (My VCR copy has long since died)
‘She dies, you die, everybody dies.’
‘Guards, castrate him.’
‘Pretty! Pretty!’
There was a sequel or at least it was a sci-fi cartoon (ahem, animation) called Heavy Metal 2.It is a lot better than the first. The model for the heroine is Julie Strain. There is one story. It concerns the green rock causing a miner to become a conqueror. His army wipes out Julie’s family and she goes after revenge.Violent, adult, not bad at all.I caught it on cinemax late one nite
FAKK2? No such thing. Never heard of it, I tell you.
ok.It was called Heavy Metal 2000.maybe it stunk.I just love that Julie Strain

I said, it never happened.
There is no such thing.
If only they’d made some kind of sequel to Highlander. That was a great movie.
“Whoah, good nyborg, man.”
Not a good movie by any stretch, but you have to admit it had its moments.
Comics artist/designer Jean Giraud (aka “Moebius”) drew at least one of the works used in Heavy Metal - though I can’t say whether or not it was the one in question - as well as doing design work on Fifth Element. So there might be a very good reason for the similarity!
The “Harry Canyon” segment of HM concerned a futuristic Cab Driver in NYC, just like Bruce Willis’ character in TFE. I figured the one inspired the other. I felt disappointed in both flicks.
Interestingly, according to a book on the film HM, they briefly considered doing a much “cartoonier” version of “Harry Canyon”, playfully called “Harry Ditch”.
Well, I’m a chick, and not fond of the “big boobs, blonde hair, tiny waist” stereotype of women, but I did like Heavy Metal.
I thought F.A.K.K. 2 was crap, though.
And this is automatically a bad thing?
I was 21 when it was released, in the navy at the time and saw it with two close friends. We were mesmerized. Even then we knew it wasn’t high art but we knew what we liked. So what if the shuttle had doors on the wrong side? The Corvette reentering rocked. Girls with giant bazooms appeal only to immature wanking fanboyus? I never grew out of that.
My wife bought me a copy of the DVD and sound track last year. I watched, listened and enjoyed. It isn’t the kind of thing I would even bring out on a yearly basis but when I am in the mood to it will be like sharing a six pack with an old friend.
