Knock yerselves out. Only not with a potentially deadly ligature around the neck, but you know what I mean.
:o
On second thought, this should probably be called “Cheesin’,” but at first it was looking like it’d be about the choking game. I wouldn’t be surprised if some kid somewhere ends up trying the cat urine [really, territorial spraying] thing.
Cartman’s in fine form with that “here, write a diary” remark.
First off, great tribute to Heavy Metal with Kenny’s trip.
Second, I just heard about the Cheese epidemic today in Dallas for the first time. Apparently the real “cheese” is some sort of Heroin and nighttime cold medicine mix.
Great start and frighteningly timely.
Damn, I just saw the write a diary part. Oh shit, that was funny.
Jim
What was that band?
Not a favorite episode, despite some of the metaphorical cleverness (and the irony of Cartman turning out to be a kitty Schindler of sorts). Mr. Broflofsky [sp??]'s Spitzer-esque turn at the end was a funny visual, but the writing was half-baked. [no pun intended]
OTOH, somebody’s got to press Trey and Matt on what exactly they see when they trip on LSD, like when they were at the Academy Awards ceremony the year when they were nominated for a song in South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut.
Unfortunately, the current interview of them in The Onion doesn’t broach the subject.
The wasn’t kitty Schindler, that was more Otto Frank & Victor Kugler, Johannes Kleiman, Miep Gies, and Bep Voskuijl from Diary of Anne Frank.
I really enjoyed it, but then I was a big fan of Heavy Metal.
I thought Cartman’s cat was a girl (as shown in “Cat Orgy”.) Of course, South Park has never really been heavy on the continuity.
Anyway, the episode reminds me why I never watch the news these days. I hate those stupid “special reports” and the resulting overreaction it always seems to cause.
The cat was a female feline in earlier episodes, they just said the hell with continuity I think. He/She was in heat in one early episode and you already mentioned the “Cat Orgy”.
There was ‘Dan Felder - Heavy Metal (Takin’ A Ride)’ and I think 'Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal ’
Wikipedia says it’s Don Felder’s “Heavy Metal (Takin’ A Ride)” from the Heavy Metal soundtrack.
On second thought, it might have been Duran Duran.
So basically, Matt and Trey wanted to see how many boobs they can get into an episode without showing the actual girl’s, right?
Weird episode.
No, I think the Wiki article is correct.
I like how Mr Broflofsky was wearing Spitzers striped Brooks Brothers tie.
That sounds about right. The animation had alot of heavy metal references: The girl and the B-17 at least.
This episode really freaked my cats out. Liked the Heavy Metal references.
Yeah, it bothered me that kitty was called MR. Kitty. Kitty is a girl, damnit!
I was wondering why “Heavy Metal” was in rotation on the tube lately. Now I know.
I was wondering what percentage of SP’s audience caught the reference. It’s disturbing to think of all those ignorant youngsters going, “What was up with the boob story?”
Nice to see Kenny catch a break for once.
And Mrs Broflofsky had that dead, “I can’t believe you’re making me stand here” expression during the press conference.
After watching it, I wandered over to the South Park Site and it was listed as a tribute to “Heavy Metal”, so the word will get around.
Perhaps the cat is a hermaphrodite like Mrs. Cartman, who we now know to be Eric Cartman’s father.
