Hellraiser the best horror movie ever? Refute with your pick.

Hellraiser was always pretty mediocre in my book. Lots of fetish imagery, okay plot, not much else.

Some of my faves:

Carnival Of Souls, Dawn Of The Dead, Nosferatu, Blood And Black Lace, Opera, Cannibal Holocaust

Some of my non-faves:

Any current horror movie that again uses the advertising concept of a photographic college of cast members…

I don’t prefer Exorcist III over the original; however, I agree that the movie is excellent. The ceiling crawl is very creepy, and the scene where the nurse suddenly has a murderer right behind her never fails to make my heart race.

The difference between the movies for me is that I can watch III on my own; the original I just can’t.

Someone mentioned earlier and I’ll give a big second to Prince of Darkness. very creepy. A recent one I haven’t noticed mentioned is Resident Evil. I never played the video game, so I went into the movie with very low expectations and found it pretty scary and entertaining. I would put John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars in a similar category. Neither would make my top five list, but I found them worth watching. Oh, and in the sci-fi/horror class, Pitch Black is a great movie! Maybe not the scariest movie, but stylish, suspenseful, and smart.
