Hell's bells, these blog spammers are fast!

So I have a blog, to which I sporadically post. And within a minute of posting, I get a blog spam. Sheesh!

And more fool me for not enabling Blogger’s word verification.

I think that’s because the Blogger.com home page has links to the most recently posted articles throughout their space. Some evil bots probably just watch that space for new activity.

Yeah they are definitely fast. I haven’t turned on word verification either, mostly out of an unwillingness to make the people who did read my blog have to do it, but it never fails to amaze me just how quickly a spam comment will appear on my blog.

Oddly, though, I just made a new post to my blog about 5 minutes ago, and there was no spam. I’m so trained to wait for it to appear in my inbox so that I can go delete it that it was a little disconcerting not to get one. Not that I’m complaining.

I’ve yet to spot how to delete the spam.

If you open the comments page, there should be a little trash can icon below each comment. Click on that, check on the box that asks “Remove forever?” and click “Delete”.

Thanks - whoever decided to make the icon light grey should be shot. I simply didn’t notice it before.

Hmm, I have a Blogger blog and I’ve never gotten spam on it. Are you talking about email spam or comments on the posts on the blog?

Man, my blog must really suck if even the spammers don’t read it… :frowning:

Comments spam. If you’re not getting any, maybe you have word verification turned on without knowing it? Either way, be glad!
