Help discern what story I'm talking about (given very bad clues I'm sure)

I recall years ago reading a short piece… most likely a newspaper column…

It was written by a woman who had just attended her first hockey game, with only a marginal understanding of the sport. She made a special point of indicating she came to it surprised to hear that the players only play in very short shifts, regularly going on and off the ice, rather than playing straight through a game…

As it plays out, she realizes just how intense, physical, and demanding the sport can be, and also starts really getting into it.

The twist of the story is (as I recall) it turns out the reporter’s blind and everything she takes in has been mostly from the sounds of the game.

Ring any bells?
