Help from wine experts? Chianti Rufina

In going through my modest wine rack, I realize that I still have a bottle of wine I received from my mom in college (about 4 years ago). It’s “Luccio Chianti Rufina” 1995. It was a gift, so I doubt it was the real cheap stuff, but I doubt it was over $30.

Is this going to still be drinkable? Can you tell me about it? If so, should I drink it soon or will it be okay hanging around for awhile longer?

You’re pushing the limit with this one. It won’t be bad, but it won’t be great either. Unless you have a Reserva Chianti from a major producer, chianti is ready to drink when you buy it, and should be consumed within a year or two for optimal flavor. The stuff you have usually retails around $17.99.
