Thanks–I’m glad I wasn’t *completely *off the mark, but I belatedly see how it could have come across and should have thought twice–even if only to reword it so it was more obvious as a not-a-real-hammer joke.
I got it too. And it got “Stop - hammer time!” stuck in my head. I didn’t think you were being a jerk at all.
ETA: Except for the part about getting a stupid song stuck in my head—jerk!
I got the joke; I just didn’t think it was funny and came off as jerkish. No harm done.

I forgive you, Rhythmdvl, I was very upset over my kitty and trounced you unfairly, because I see, now, you WERE only making a joke. And the song is “U Can’t Touch This”.
Is the company going out of business or just switching formulas? You might try contacting their customer service number and asking them which of their continuing brands will most be like the current favorite. I would think your best bet is probably a food from the same company even if it’s not the exact brand. It would still be made from the same ingredients, just different amounts, after all.
Heh. I thought it was just my senior kitty who was like this! He has never liked canned/wet cat food. He likes a few brands of dry kibble, and there’s always plenty available for him. But a few weeks ago, we got a new kitten, who loves canned food. Every morning, I give her a can of wet food. My older cat will sit right next to her and glare the whole time she’s eating, even though he doesn’t even like what she’s having! I never thought of it as sibling rivalry, but I guess that’s pretty much what it is!
