Thought of another one, Athena. I doubt it will scare many modern audiences, but I’ve always thought it was very stylish – of course it is based on Henry James’ “The Turn of the Screw.”
Watch “The Innocents.”
Here are some off the top of my head. I chose ones that would be obscure or older. My preference goes to movies without a lot of gore, but interesting visuals and/or suspense and/or humour. I would urge you to try and look up these movies at http://www.imdb.com to see if you think they would be entertaining for your crowd.

Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains.
The Relic.
The Prophecy.
Christopher Walken playing Gabrielle, The Angel of Death and Vigo Mortensen as Lucifer.
Way Cool.

For a fun, campy horror film I would recommend “Evil Dead 2” and “Army of Darkness”, the sequel.
If you want to take a break from horror, try “Arsenic and Old Lace,” a wonderful comedy with Cary Grant, Raymond Massey and Peter Lorre. It’s a scream.
The strangest “scary” movie I’ve ever seen is “The Old Dark House,” made in 1932 with an all-star cast - Charles Laughton, Boris Karloff, and Raymond Massey, directed by James Whale and written by J.B. Priestly. (If you’ve ever seen the very silly “Haunted Honeymoon” with Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder, you’ll find Dom Deluise’s speech, as he slides down the bannister, is a direct lift from “TODH.”)
Chrisctp…what? You mean you’ve seen it???
No, no copy, sorry.I love James Brolin!
Something Wicked This Way Comes
A great scary film.
Hmmm… lots and lots to think about! I knew you guys would come through!
Got to back up JRK and aseymayo. CALIGARI and THE OLD DARK HOUSE would be on my top five list.
Try ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1932) with Charles Laughton playing (overplaying?) Dr. Moreau, creator of man-animals on a steamy jungle island, and Kathleen Burke as a majorly sexy, only-in-Pre-Code-Hollywood, Panther Woman.
What is the Law?
Not to spill BLOOD, that is the Law! Are we not MEN?

Ike - yes! And Bela Lugosi as the Sayer of the Law.
What is the Law?
Not to walk on all fours, that is the Law!
[a sweeping bow to aseymayo]
And just to finish off the trilogy,
“Not to eat MEAT, that is the Law! Are we not MEN?”
– Uke, clicking the “submit” button and turning back to his pastrami sandwich
AWB: How in the hell did you do that?
Remember, I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together.

Another ‘party horror’ movie is “From Dusk Till Dawn”. Starts off as a typical, intense Tarantino film, then takes a right turn into strangeville.
“Now, let’s kill that fucking band”
Go the camp/high camp route.

My suggestions:
“Godzilla”(1950’s version)
“King Kong”(1930’s)
“Them!”
“Attack of The Killer Tomatoes”
“Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein”
Any or all of the Poe films from Hammer studios,
Starring Vincent Price</p>
We have met the enemy, and He is Us.–Walt Kelly
You could intersperse the movies with a few of the original b&w Twilight Zone episodes. My choices would be: 1) The Hitchiker. The woman keeps seeing the same hitchiker as she is driving. 2)The old woman keeps getting phone calls and it turns out the phone line fell and landed on the grave. She was getting phone calls from beyond. 3) Lee Marvin as the gunslinger in the old west. He bets he can go to the grave and stick his knife in the grave and return because he wasn’t afraid.
The origina Halloween series.

Dang, that’s all i can think of!.
More suggestions: Tales From The Crypt and Vault Of Horror (the 2 1970’s films based on the EC horror comics stories); BloodFeast and/or 2000 Maniacs; Hillbilles In A Haunted House (how not to make a horror movie).
