A training course on risk management I attended this week incorporated this mezmerizing Youtube clip showing maintenance workers being offloaded from a helicopter onto live 500kV electric lines. It’s not clear whether this is part of a longer documentary, but if it is, I’d love to see the rest of it. Anyone know what it’s from?
I’ve seen almost identical footage on a Modern Marvels show on the History Channel. I seem to recall that the show was about electric power systems. It might be available online.

It’s been a while since I saw the whole film, but if you want more about working on high-voltage power lines, I think that sequence is about all there is. The rest is about other uses of helicopters.
I just heard from Craig (the guy who posted that on Youtube) and he confirmed that it’s from Helicopters In Action.
No one asked how I knew, or how sure I was, but I’m a journalist who covers the IMAX film industry. I know the people who made the film, and have seen it many times. As soon as I saw the title of the thread, I was pretty sure I knew the answer.
