Help identifying junked old car

Could well be original… Here’s the bible on Ford models and main options open at the relevant pages…short (2") metal spokes everwhere.

When I saw this quibble about spokes, I thought you must mean model T wooden spoke rims ! But Wooden spokes on a V8 ?

Yeah, but that’s 1935. No sign of spokes in this 1940 Ford brochure.

Here are some good pictures of a 1940 Ford.

Reviving this thread to help identify another wrecked car. It also has 3 or 4 little portholes so its a Buick.

Grill - probably the best identifying feature

Suicide doors

I’m thinking 1952 Special?

No help on this one but a new thread would have been OK as well. I jumped in thinking maybe you had dug out the original car and gotten a positive ID on it. :smack:

(I actually remembered the old thread)

1953 Buick.

Note the shape of the headlights, the hood emblem, and how the “road lights” fit into the bumper.

But, the car did not have suicide doors. Wonder if this was customized?

Thanks! That’s great.

Upon closer examination of the photo it looks like the rear door was opened past its normal position so it looked to me like a suicide door. It’s actually a normally mounted door that is out of position. I’ll verify the next time I’m back there.

1940 Ford with Model A wheels. It would be worth dragging out of the woods even in this condition.

I came across two cars today that look very similar in body style (split rear windows, rear suicide doors) to a pic you posted. Did you ever find out what year/make/model it was?

Many Thanks!

The car I was trying to ID didn’t actually have suicide doors, it was a 53 Buick.

There are two separate cars being discussed in this thread.
The original question concerned a '37 or so Ford.
Then the thread was bumped regarding ID on a '53 Buick.
Had me confused also.

That’s a '39 Dodge and possibly a '47 Lincoln.
