Help! Indentifying Beatles

My heart will always belong to George. I’ve always thought that Paul was too smarmy, both in looks and attitude. As far as I was concerned, the Beatles consisted of George, John, Ringo, and Paul.

Yes.

That’s some scary shit right there.

Thanks. Now I feel like killing Sharon Tate.

Shodan

Well, the OP’s question was answered…but watching the video, did anyone else expect to see the High Priest throw darts at the screen and colored names shoot out from them?
I thought this video was recorded for the movie “Help!” opening credits, which is why there’s several key shots of that big ring on Ringo’s finger thru-out the video (the ring, of course, being a major plot point in Help!).
Unless the writers worked backward - “So how do we work the Beatles into a quasi-spy action adventure? What motivator can we use?” “Say, look at this video for the song Help! - look that ring…”

To Shodan:

Unfortunately, Sharon Tate is unavailable. Will you settle for Roman Polanski?

Well, that knocked the wind out of me. I better start looking for an old folks’ home.

Don’t need to go to Audacity for something as simple as reversing - the Sound Recorder that comes installed by default on Windows does it just fine. (The first time I ever played a sound file backwards was the runout groove from Sgt Pepper, which is supposed to say ‘We will fuck you like Superman’, which I could sort of hear, if I tried hard enough. I used Windows’ sound recorder.)

Friends of mine and I played all the Beatles’ records from Rubber Soul backwards during the height of the “Paul is dead” rumors. What stands out in my memory is the line “Playing music and laughing in bed” as plain as can be in the middle of “Back in the U.S.S.R.”

Did you and friends “experiment”?

Sorry, misunderstood.

Wait, no, I didn’t. You started with Rubber Soul and went backwards? “Back in the USSR” is on the White Album, which came out after Rubber Soul.

Backwards, but in sequential order, if memory serves–which it might not, what with all that “experimenting”…

THAT was so creepy, I had to turn it off…!

You’re a bad, bad, man, Sam A. Robrin… I want my mummy…

There are a lot of websites claiming that “Yesterday” is the A-side and “Act Naturally” is the B-side. There are a lot of websites claiming that “Act Naturally” is the A-side and “Yesterday” is the B-side. I have no idea how to tell what to believe.

Go to the pictures.

“Yesterday” - A-side
A-side

Actually, that doesn’t prove anything. If you look at the other side of that sleeve, you’ll see “Act Naturally” listed first and in larger letters. The label has no A or B side designations.

There you go then. There is no answer.

You’re right, it doesn’t. That was not one of the “backwards clues” like “Turn me on, dead man” or “Paul is dead, miss him, miss him, miss him”… it was simply that the phrase “cran…BERRY…sauce”, buried in the mix, sounded kind of like “I…BURIED…Paul”. I think it wasn’t until Anthology that a version of “Strawberry Fields” came out with the ending faded up enough to make the sibilants in “sauce” clearly audible. (See “the clues” here.)

So, you may have heard “I buried Paul” when you played IATW backwards, but that’s not where everybody else heard it.
