Help Me Better Understand Gun Control Opposition

Here was your original claim:

Later, you pared it down a bit to this:

Earlier I mentioned that you were equivocating on the word “gun”, interchanging whether you were talking about long guns or handguns. Here you switch the claim entirely. You claimed you could walk into a store and purchase a gun and take it right home. In some states this may be true, but for many people in the country, that is false. In response, you say they should let SCOTUS decide. Of course, no one is making a constitutional argument against waiting periods, though there are strong ones available. The point is you are wrong. Factually incorrect - for people that Pantastic and I mentioned, your claim is false. That you try to pivot and change it to a constitutional argument is transparently obvious in its handwaving and trying to change the argument.

Sorry, but I’m pretty sure that it is factually correct that I can go right after work, purchase a gun, and take it home with me.

I made no claims on what you or **Pantastic **could do.

If there are states where people CAN’T do that, then that is their problem. They should work to correct it. I don’t have any problems with the current gun control laws since, as stated, I can go into a store tonight and take a gun home. If YOU have a problem, you should sue, and since you say the majority of the country agrees with you, then you should have no problems.

I will never consider the fact that there are only 300 models of guns you can buy indicative of some 2nd Amendment right infringement. You may think it is, but you can’t convince me, and like I said, I AGREE with you regarding self defense. I doubt you will be able to convince those who abhor guns totally.
