Help me choose a car

Having totalled my Favorite Car Ever a few weeks ago (idiot oncoming driver made a left turn in front of me), I find myself in the market for new transportation.

Unfortunately, neither Dodge nor Mitsubishi make the Stealth/3000GT these days. I’ve looked at alternatives, but reluctantly ruled out some (otherwise appealling) two-seater cars, as I occasionally need back seat space for my large dog.

Of those still in the running, I’m leaning towards either an Infiniti G35 Coupe or a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. (I’m interested in all opinions, cosmetic or otherwise, andnot just those of people with direct experience with these two models.)

Have you considered the Subie WRX? Holy crap that’s a fun car!

Otherwise, I prefer Infinitis to Mitsubishis, but I have no solid reason why. I just perceive them as being higher quality.

Haven’t driven the WRX, but did research/consider it, along with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (its main competitor - See here). I just can’t get excited about the four-door look. I agree they look like fun cars, and both have gotten positive reviews, but the appearance doesn’t do it for me.

I also agree that the Infiniti looks like a higher quality car. The interior is richer looking and, overall, the car has a more sophisticated appearance. No surprise there, really. The Infiniti line mostly falls into the luxury category. There’re three things going for the Eclipse though. The Infiniti costs more, my experience with the Stealth (a Mitsubishi product) was excellent - no major repairs in 10 years, and Mitsubishi has the best warranty out there, including 3 years of free scheduled maintenance. The Eclipse is also American made, which is a minor plus for me.

Well, since you didn’t specify a price range, you may want to consider the Bentley Azure. It is a 2 door model and has back seat that can handle almost any dog. Granted, a sticker price of around $350,000 may make those monthly payments a bit on the high side.

Funny guy. You can safely rule out any Lamborghinis, too.
