So I’m starting a new job in tech support. I really could use a new cell phone, as I’m still using the free one that came with the account umpteen years ago. I’m with T-Mobile, and have no desire to leave. I’d like it take true web browsing (with keyboard) and a camera, as those will come in handy when I’m working in the field. I’d like to spend no more than 200.00 or so after rebates, which sadly rules out an iPhone.
Any recommendations?
If you’re determined to stay with T-Mobile, then you’d probably find most of what you want with a Dash.
Me, I signed on with Cingular, which of course nearly immediately afterwards was cannibalized by AT&T, but I’ve still been extremely happy with my Blackjack.
Actually, I guess I’m not really wedded to T-Mobile. I’m currently on a family plan with my wife and in-laws, but I’ll probably need to leave that anyway to take advantage of the new features. If that’s the case, I’ve got no problem switching providers.
I’d recommend checking if you get a company-provided cell phone, or if not, a discount with the carrier that has the corporate contract. I get a discount of about 15% on my personal cell phone because of my company’s contract with AT&T.
Not a big enough company for a corporate contract. They don’t provide a phone, but they do cover a portion of my monthly bill.
