This safe has both a 5-pin key-lock and combo on the front. Initially I had thought the safe could be opened by either method, but I’m 99% sure Ive picked the key lock completely, but it will not turn all the way. When I attempt to turn the cylinder, it wiggles the knob of the combo lock. I am no good at cracking the combo by “feel” or “sound” or any of that movie bullshit (I’m going deaf :(), and I’d rather not have to drill it, 'cause I want to keep the safe (It was free, and buying a new lock would defeat the coolness of a free safe).
Does this safe require both the key and combination to open? Anyone familiar with it? Any suggestions, short of Wile-E-Coyote and a stick of cartoon dynamite?
Here’s a link to a slashdot article about safecracking. The referenced document on crypto.com may not help you, but both the article and the document are interesting reading.
IIRC threads on lockpicking/safecracking often get closed, as they devolve too closely to a discussion of illegal activity, though I suspect you probably own this safe or are otherwise trying to open it legally.
We have no way of knowing if you own the safe, and no way of stopping the unscrupulous from using the information a thread like this would provide. Best advice is to contact a locksmith or the manufacturer.
