Help me demonstrate that Sarah Palin is worthy of being President

That is, Mrs Palin got by by being obscure–& only known superficially in Alaska itself. Further scrutiny exposed her flaws.

How about this for an argument…

[ul]
[li]She was elected to the Wasilla City Council and when she ran for re-election she won by an even larger margin than in her first victory.[/li]
[li]She was elected mayor of Wasilla and when she ran for re-election she won by an even larger margin than in her first victory.[/li]
[li]When she ran for governor of Alaska she first defeated the incumbent governor in the Republican primary.[/li][/ul]

What lesson to I take from this?
The people who were most affected by her actions and her policies kept re-hiring her and saw fit to send her to higher and higher office.

I don’t know if that makes her worthy of being President (though I have no doubt she would be an improvement over the current occupant of the Oval Office) but it makes me think she has genuine potential.

Did you intentionally leave out the numbers for that election, or did you just not know them?

1st election - 651 to 440
2nd election - 909 to 292

I went to a High School where elections for Student Body President were won by wider margins and greater numbers.

She defeated the incumbent Governor of Alaska in a primary, and a former Democratic governor in the general election. Both men were disliked by the electorate and Palin’s major campaign theme was ‘I’m not them’.

Then she quit.

Czarcasm,

I provided some serious input. Do you have any plans to take this any further? You must realize that being the Czar of Sarcasm requires all Sarcasts such as myself to respond, either out of fealty, or because we are plotting to overthrow you and must appear loyal to avoid detection. A qualified czar would at least respond in some manner, or initiate a progrom to distract us.

[hijack] I know John Tyler’s grandson, and he looks very much like his grandfather. A fine looking old old Southern Gentleman.

I do recall Sarah Palin’s first public speech - at the GOP convention - being pretty good. Not intellectually dense, but that’s not what it was for. She did a good job of energizing the room, which is a valuable skill for a presidential candidate.

The part where you critiqued her speech for what it contained, I pretty much agreed with. The rest of the post was off-topic, so I’ll leave it alone.
The woman went to college. Aren’t there any term papers or reports we can examine?

Edited to add: I believe the word you intended to write was “pogrom”.

Correct, Most Gracious Sire. I’ve spent too long pogramming computers.
