A song came up on Pandora while I was busy and I didn’t get a chance to get the name, and I played the station for 8 hours so I don’t think I can get back to what the song was.
Christmas song
-female singer
I think it was a 40s or 50s song.
The station I was listening to on Pandora has a lot of jazz and “lounge” a la Dean Martin and Michael Buble
I am almost positive the lyrics were “I wish you all the merry/ I wish you all the very best”
I looked up Peggy Lee Christmas songs and didn’t see a title that looked right but I could be wrong.
These lyrics seem impossible to Google because all I get are hits for “We wish you a merry Christmas.”
Any clue?? I’m so mad at myself. I coulda asked Alexa what the song was but I was measuring something and then people walked in the door.
If it doesn’t load, this is a link to lyrics.com with a search for the phrase “wish you all the very best” which seemed like it would generate fewer false positives than anything with the word “Christmas.” At least a few look like possible matches.
But since I didn’t hear the song (and for that matter, generally avoid X-mas music) I’m not much more help. I find Pandora will often play covers of songs (often very good covers), so if you find something that matches the lyrics, but not the singer, you might then need to search for covers of that particular song to narrow it further.
I also remember a Christmas song, most likely from that same era, which featured a woman with a very deep contralto voice and the phrase “Oh, yes, it’s Christmas time, oh yes, it’s Christmas time” and it had a bit of a polka beat.
