Help me find a Looney Tunes episode

Ok, this is random, but I am hoping someone will be able to help me. There is, out there somewhere, an episode from Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies that I want to find a copy of, if possible. I had it on VHS once, but when the house got flooded, that tape was destroyed.
It was probably in the 60’s (possibly 50’s or 70’s), and did not feature any of the regular characters. It was about an alien who felt unloved and unwanted on his home planet, so he came to Earth, where he was – of course – harassed, thrown in jail, etc. before he decided to go back to his home world, where he found the love he had wanted all along was right there…yeah, cheesy but sweet. It has that trippy, psychedelic feel of the 60’s cartoons.
If anyone knows the title of this one – or even just the year/season it came out, so I can track it down, that would ROCK!

AFAIK the only alien in any Looney Tunes short features was Marvin the Martian, and none of his cartoons fit your description.

Found it – Martian Through Georgia - Wikipedia
one of my all-time faves…definitely watch it if you get a chance!

Edited to add a link to the episode – http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xk8tr2_1962-martian-through-georgia_shortfilms#.Udmf5vkkI3k

How could you forget Rocket Bye Baby?

I can’t. I’m still haunted by cries of “Yob! Yob! Bring back my Yob!” as he plummets to the ground. :frowning:

It’s a Merrie Melody, but let’s not overlook Jumpin’ Jupiter, in which a bird-like alien (somewhat resembling the “instant Martians” that would appear a few years later in Hare-Way to the Stars) abducts Porky and Sylvester, with the latter terrified and the former oblivious.
Personally, I didn’t much like Martian Through Georgia. The ending annoys me.

Yeah, can’t say I thought much of it (though I don’t ever remember seeing it as a kid). It’s most definitely got that Chuck Jones ‘look’ to it, but it was made in '62 and you can tell how stale & lackluster WB’s animation department was getting. Not to mention cheap. There’s almost no dialog, just narration, and the main character never says a word (no lip-syncing to have to animate)…

Does anybody really differentiate between the Merrie Melodies and the Loony Tunes any more? WB certainly doesn’t seem to.

Wow. Sorry, but that was awful. Moralistic and dull at the same time.
It suffers from latter day Chuck Jones combined with the annoying UPA style of background design that marred many WB cartoons from this period.

“Unloved, unwanted. What now, kill your yourself? Why not? No one loves you (alien takes out ray gun and points it to his head.)”

“But wait! There is is someone, somewhere…”

Yeah, that episode kinda stuck to me. Watched it in the 70s.

On this board? E Nitpickerus Unum.

I miss the old Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies cartoons. The music they used in those added so much to the story and animation.
